Workmanship

Each Château de Versailles Box is crafted in France using traditional artisan techniques.

History

The Château de Versailles tree-boxes are a a patented adaptation of the garden boxes created in 1670 by André Le Nôtre for the growing of orange-trees at the Château de Versailles under the reign of Louis XIV.

Ordering

The Château de Versailles planters are available in eight sizes and come in 12 paint colors. They are constructed using traditional French craftsmanship using solid oak that is carefully selected from the finest specimens from the Troncais forest in the center of France, and cast iron that is fabricated by hand in Alsace to obtain a structure that can last for over a century. The planters are treated so that they are rustproof for at least 20 years and are coated with three layers of high quality micro porous paint that allows the wood to breathe. These factors that allow these planters to have solidity & longevity that is unsurpassed.

The growth of plants is enhanced by better drainage and proper ventilation of the soil. Planters are bottomless and the four side panels can be opened allowing direct access to the soil and necessary care of the roots.
